Church of God Receives PHC Award, November 2016

The World Mission Society Church of God Singapore has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Public Hygiene Council (PHC) for their voluntary efforts.

The award was presented in recognition of the World Mission Society Church of God Singapore’s collaboration with PHC for the Corporate Clean-up Week, held between 7 to 11 November 2016. After the award presentation, the PHC also expressed their wish to have future collaborations with the WMSCOG in Singapore. Future projects and events in which they hope to elicit the help from the church members were also brought into discussion.

The Corporate Clean-up Week is an initiative for organisations to “engage their employees in keeping our environment clean and green, and appreciating the hard work of our cleaners.” (PHC Facebook page) Working alongside PHC, volunteers from the WMSCOG (sgwmscog.com) organised the clean-up, guiding more than 700 employees from over 20 organisations by explaining to them the importance of a clean environment.

All the WMSCOG volunteers and the participants worked together to clean up the beaches at Changi, East Coast, Pasir Ris, and Sembawang. As a result of everyone’s collaborative efforts, a total of more than 800kg of waste was collected.
