God the MotherOctober 28, 2016
If there is God the Father, shouldn’t there be God the Mother as well? Let us examine this through the Bible.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.Revelation 22:17
The Book of Revelation is a revelation from Jesus, prophesying the future things that are to come. The Spirit is God the Father according to the Trinity. Then who is the Bride who has authority to give water of life [eternal life]? Can it be the saints or church?
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.Revelation 21:6
It is only God who has the authority to give water of life. So we can understand the Bride in the book of Revelation refers to neither the saints nor the church. Let us find out who the Bride is, through another chapter in the same book.
One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.Revelation 21:9-10
The angel promised to show John the Bride, the wife of the Lamb, and showed him the heavenly Jerusalem. In the end, he showed him Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. So what is our relationship with the Heavenly Jerusalem?
But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.Galatians 4: 26
In the Book of Galatians written by Apostle Paul, he wrote that the heavenly Jerusalem is our mother. He testified further that we are the children of the free woman (Galatians 4:31). Thus, the Bride in Revelation 22:17 is referring to our God the Mother.
