Coming Again to Teach Us

State of the World at His Second Coming
Luke 18:7-8 However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
2,000 years ago, Jesus Christ spoke of what the spiritual state of the world would be when He comes a second time. As we read His words today, we can almost feel His anguish of knowing that He would come to a world that is dark and faithless.
Just as it was spoken through the parable of the weeds, Jesus prophesied that weed-like teachings that are not from God would fill the earth after His ascension. The true will of God is nowhere to be found. This same prophecy was also shown to the Apostle John.
Revelation 5:1-2 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”
In A.D. 96, on the Island of Patmos, Apostle John saw a vision about the future. In his vision, God who sits enthroned in Heaven had the Scriptural scrolls, more commonly known today as the Bible, in His hand. However, what happened to the Bible? It seemed like it was sealed.
Was this truly a prophecy about our times? Currently, the Bible is one of the bestsellers in the world, with millions of people opening and reading it every day. So what does it mean that the Bible is sealed?
Isaiah 29:9-12 …For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I can’t; it is sealed.” …
The prophet Isaiah explained that, even if people are able to read the words in the Bible, it will still be sealed to them. This means that it is actually the truths of the Bible that are sealed. If we are unable to know the true will of God in the Bible even though we diligently study it, how can we be saved? Then, is there anyone who can unseal the Bible for us?
Today, we can see many Bible commentaries, each having a different interpretation of the Scriptures. Can all these be the true interpretation of the Bible altogether?
The Only One who can Unseal the Bible–the Root of David
Revelation 5:3-5 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
The Bible explains that absolutely no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth is able to open the sealed Bible. There is only one who can do this: He is the Root of David. Who is the Root of David?
Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
The Root of David refers to Jesus Christ. As the Bible explains that the Root of David unseals the truth which was brought by Jesus at His first coming, the Root of David here must be referring to the Second Coming Jesus.
The Holy Spirit Teaches Us All Truths
Thus, the purpose of God coming a second time to this earth is to bring all the truth to us.
John 14:25-26 “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
John 15:26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, is God Almighty according to the Trinity. What is the purpose of His coming? Jesus revealed that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will teach us all things and will guide us into all the truth. The prophet Micah too testified that God will teach us His ways in the last days.
Micah 4:1-2 In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
The Apostle John prophesied that the Root of David, the second coming Jesus will unseal the secrets of the Bible. Jesus Christ said that the Holy Spirit will teach us all truth. Prophet Micah recorded that God will teach us His ways.
In this way, we can see that the Root of David is the Holy Spirit, God who comes a second time.
In this world, there are many teachers and teachings. Who then, can teach us the way to the kingdom of God? As it is the kingdom of God, of course, we must be taught by God.
No matter how many times we read the Bible, none can know the will of God by our own wisdom. It is only the second coming Jesus who will reveal to us the lost truth that can give us salvation. In these last days, when the Holy Spirit comes, let us seek the Root of David and receive God’s salvation.
1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart…
