Have you ever come across the word Elohim (Hebrew: אֱלֹהִים) ? Do you know what the word Elohim means? This word appears more than 2500 times in the best selling book in the world—The Holy Bible.

The original text of the Bible in the Old Testament was recorded in Hebrew. The word Elohim is the plural of El or EloahEl or Eloah refers to the singular term for God. In other words, Elohim is the word for the plural form of God, i.e. Gods.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God [Elohim] created the heavens and the earth.

Right from the first sentence of the first book of the Bible, the Bible clearly testifies to the plurality of God. Why was this recorded in the Hebrew Bible? Evidently, Elohim God wants us to know there are more than one God.
