The Last Adam and Christ

The first man whom God breathed life into was Adam. Adam disobeyed God and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil causing death to mankind (Romans 5:12). Contrastingly, the Bible mentions about the last Adam whom will give life to mankind.

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.

While the world was condemned to death through the first Adam, the role of the last Adam is to grant life to mankind as the life-giving spirit.

Who is the last Adam?

Romans 5:14 (NLT) Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.

The Apostle Paul wrote in the book of Romans that Adam represents Jesus Christ. Hence, the last Adam represents Jesus who is to appear in the last days, that is, the Second Coming Christ.

How does the last Adam give life?

Let us see how the last Adam gives life at the last day as the life-giving spirit.

John 6:53-54 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Whoever eats the flesh and drinks the blood of Christ has eternal life, being raised up at the last day. Before Jesus was crucified, he showed his disciples the way to eat His flesh and drink His blood.

Luke 22:7-8, 19-20 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”… And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

This is the scene of the Passover in the new covenant. Jesus referred to the Passover bread as his body, and the Passover wine as his blood. Before His death on the cross Jesus shared the bread and wine on the Passover which symbolises Christ’s flesh and blood. Thus, the way for us to receive life at the last day is to keep the Passover of the new covenant.

The Second Coming Christ

The last Adam is Jesus, who comes a second time to the earth to save humankind who is bound to death. He must bring the Passover of the new covenant that gives life at the last day.In A.D. 325, the Passover that Jesus established before his death was abolished through the Council of Nicaea and the knowledge of this truth gradually disappeared (see Passover: Changed in History for more details).

According to the prophecies of the Bible, Christ Ahnsahnghong brought the truth of the Passover again and restored it. He has come according to the prophecy of the last Adam in order to give eternal life to mankind, who were bound to death.

Jesus explained that the scriptures of the Bible testifies to the Savior, namely, the Christ. He also explained that the Christ is the one that gives eternal life.

John 5:39-40 YYou study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
